Installing Lightroom Presets

Before you begin please check which version of Adobe Lightroom you have installed on your computer. If you have Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, version 7.3 onwards, follow the first set of instructions, titled Installing .xmp Files. If you have an older version, such as Adobe Lightroom 4, 5 or 6, then you will need to follow the second set of instructions, titled Installing .lrtemplate Files. Please also check that you know the location of the files you downloaded.

Installing .xmp Files (Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, version 7.3 onwards)

The .zip file you downloaded when purchasing these presets contains 3 items: these instructions (PDF), a folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection, and a folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection - LrTemplate. For this installation process we'll be using the folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection.

  1. Open Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.

  2. Open the Preferences dialogue box: On Windows, choose Edit > Preferences, on Mac OS, choose Lightroom > Preferences.

  3. Make sure that Store presets with this catalog is NOT ticked. 

  4. Choose Show Lightroom Develop Presets. A window should open showing a folder named Settings.

  5. Move the downloaded folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection into this Settings folder. Make sure you move the actual folder, not just the contents of the folder.

  6. Restart Lightroom and your new presets should be installed and ready to use.

Installing .lrtemplate Files (Adobe Lightroom, pre 7.3)

The .zip file you downloaded when purchasing these presets contains 3 items: these instructions (PDF), a folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection, and a folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection - LrTemplate. For this installation process we'll be using the folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection - LrTemplate. 

  1. Open Adobe Lightroom.

  2. Open the Preferences dialogue box: On Windows, choose Edit > Preferences, on Mac OS, choose Lightroom > Preferences.

  3. Make sure that Store presets with this catalog is NOT ticked. 

  4. Choose Show Lightroom Presets Folder. A window should open showing a folder named Lightroom.

  5. Within the Lightroom folder there should be a folder named Devolop Presets.

  6. Move the downloaded folder named AMP Lens - Organic Collection - LrTemplate into this Devolop Presets folder. Make sure you move the actual folder, not just the contents of the folder.

  7. Restart Lightroom and your new presets should be installed and ready to use.
